titleNY – ANTARCTICA: A LANDSCAPE IN FLUX

Antarctica is a remarkably pristine landscape dotted with towering icebergs and islands covered in hoards of penguin colonies. But it is also rapidly changing, warming five times faster than the global average temperature trends. Less sea ice, vulnerable declining species, and collapsing glaciers -these were the sights and sounds I saw while living and working at the US base at Palmer Station in the Western Antarctic Peninsula.

On Friday, March 2nd, 6:30 pm join me as I retell my experience in the icy south, recounting everything from the vital ongoing ecological research I took part in as well as recreational expeditions and life at the ends of the Earth.
