Concert pianist Eglė Andrejevaitė – active promoter of contemporary music – prepared a special concert program dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Baltic states.

The three small Baltic states celebrating their centenaries in 2018 always have been constant in their defence of independence. 1918th – as well as the regain of independence at the start of the 1990s – are the years of great importance for Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania: the time we shared values and have worked together to maintain independence, freedom and sovereignty. The shared history and co-operation between the countries inspired E. Andrejevaitė to celebrate unity by performing most significant pieces of contemporary Baltic composers Arvo Pärt, Peteris Vasks and Julius Andrejevas.

The name of the program – ESTAMPAS | ENGRAVING – is given by the piece J. Andrejevas, which was written for international M. K. Čiurlionis competition in 1990 as a symbol of power rising from creation of identity.
